conservative?

STARTED WORKING TODAY. AND I TELL YOU, ADMIN IS DEFINATELY NOT SOMETHING I WILL BE GOING IN TO. HOURS OF MINDLESS MINDLESSNESS.
THIS SAID, IT'S MONEY AND MONEY IS WHAT I NEED RIGHT NOW. SO I CAN'T COMPLAIN SO MUCH. AND ANYWAY, I'D UNDOUBTEDLY BE BORED AND FRUSTRATED NOT EARNING MONEY SO IT'S NOT SO BAD.

FORTUNATELY I DON'T HAVE TO WEAR A UNIFORM, THANK GOODNESS. BUT BLACK/ CONSERVATIVE/ SOPHISTICATED/ PLAIN ARE STAPLE THEMES GOING ON.
striped knit, black hareems, hobnail boots, biker jacket.
(i think this was suitably fit for the occasion)
(P S. I APOLOGISE FOR BEING STRANGELY GREEN IN SOME OF THE PHOTOS. DON'T WORRY, IT WASN'T NAUSEA- JUST STRANGE, STRANGE LIGHTING.)

OH YEAH-
FORGOT TO SAY WHAT I'M ACTUALLY DOING DUHH! WELL I'M SPENDING 7 WEEKS WORKING AT MY DAD'S SURGERY. 'TEMPORARY ADMINISTATOR' IS MY TECHNICAL ROLE. FULL-TIME, 8.30-5pm
goodness. early nights are going to be on the agenda.

help needed ♥

HAVING FAR TOO MUCH FUN DANCING AROUND WITH MY TASSELS- you know how it is.

SO, DID I WEAR THIS TODAY- NO. IT'S RAINING OUTSIDE, AND ITS POSITIVELY VILE. BARE LEGS + THAT = miserably cold.
NO, I STAYED IN WITH HAREEM JOGGERS AND AN OVERSIZED KNIT. (didn't realise we'd side-passed summer and arrived in the bleakness of winter already.)

ANYWAY, MOOCHING ONLINE I FOUND A COMPETITION I'VE ENTERED -a festival chic competition. SO, I SPENT THE AFTERNOON PONDERING MY WARDROBE FOR MY MOST FESTIVALLY-CHIC GARB.
black hobnail boots, bare legs, high waisted short printed culottes, brown leather waistbelt, heavily fringed body, black twisted headband topped off with gold accessories and an anchor tattoo.
AND DO YOU LIKE IT?

OH, HOW I HOPE SO.
HOPEFULLY, JUST POSSIBLY, EVER SO MAYBE- YOU COULD VOTE FOR ME? IT'S SO SIMPLE, IF YOU HAVE FACEBOOK (fyi, it's 21st century, if you don't have facebook, you should.)
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SIMPLY CLICK 'LIKE', JUST HERE

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, I'D APPRECIATE IT SO VERY GREATLY.

GOLDIE LOOK 'N' CHAIN

AN OUTFIT OF A FEW DAYS OLD NOW, CAN'T EXACTLY REMEMBER WHAT I DID. I IMAGINE IT WAS A LOVELY DAY OF NOT A LOT REALLY. PROBABLY WENT IN TO TOWN AT SOME POINT, PROBABLY WENT TO STARBUCKS AT SOME POINT, PROBABLY SPENT NEEDED MONEY AT SOME POINT.
my life seems to be full of je ne sais quoi right now.

THINK I MAY HAVE GONE TO THE CINEMA ACTUALLY- STREETDANCE 3D, GOOOOD FILM. I'M NOT JOKING, I WANT TO DANCE DANCE DANCE.

MAXI MAXI MAXI

isn't fashion funny eh?

1960s- only miniskirts would suffice.
1970s- female liberation, flowing maxi dresses
1990s-  the mini is back. the denim-er the better.
2010- the maxi is back.

AND BY BACK, I MEAN BETTER AND LONGER THAN EVER. THE CATWALK WENT WILD FOR LENGTH, AND WHERE DESIGNERS LEAD- SHOPS, MODELS AND FASHIONISTAS FOLLOW.

AND WHO WOULDN'T, WITH BENEFITS SUCH AS THESE:
-kiss goodbye to that gym membership- lumps and bumps are finally cloaked.

-tired of that hilarious 'irish legs' pet name? finally flee the sarcasm -underneath your billowing gown could be a golden goddess. could be.-say goodbye to shaving, the maxi embraces fur.

-worried about your sandal clash? or not quite on top of your pedi appointments?  thank goodness for floor-length.

-too short to pull it off? duhh, high waist+long length= illusional inches. and anyway, get one long enough and you can sneak your 7" espadrilles underneath.
-banishing body-con means finally you can opt for that lunchtime pizza. screw salad.
ONLY PROBLEM, THE UNDERWEAR ISSUE. LOOKS LIKE IT'S TIME TO CELEBRATE FEMALE LIBERATION AND UNDERTAKE THE COMMANDO. sexy.

THERE'S SO MANY AROUND- SOME CONSIDERABLY NICER THAN OTHERS, AND SOME, JUST A LITTLE TOO NICE. NEED TO CIPHER MY WAY THROUGH THIS LOT AND DECIDE WHICH NEEDS BUYING. MY TIP- LESS IS MORE, IN TERMS OF PATTERN AND PRINT AND DARK IS ALWAYS AND DEINFATELY BEST (in terms of both style and, ahem, your modesty.)

ANY OF THESE PLEASE, WITH SIMPLE ACCESSORIES- GOLD CHAIN AND HEAVY RING. OOH, AND MAYBE A HAT.
SO YOU'RE ON BOARD RIGHT, WOULD YOU GO AS FAR AS CALLING YOURSELF A MAXI-NISTA?
gosh, i need to get shopping.

5.23.2010

problem, deffos.

AN OUTFIT VERY MINIMAL. EMBRACING MUCHOS THE SUNSHINE AND THE HIGH, HIGH BRITISH TEMPERATURES.

EVEN IN SUCH TOKEN CLOTHING,  I WAS FAR TOO HOT.
I KIND OF LOVE THAT
-TOO HOT IS A DEFINITE RARITY.

I MUST ADMIT, I DID GO IN TO TOWN AND BUY YET MORE CLOTHES (I'VE GOT A PROBLEM- I KNOW) BUT I COULDN'T RESIST. MY BANK ACCOUNT IS KILLING ME RIGHT NOW, SO I'LL SHOW YOU TOMORROW, WHEN I'VE COME TO TERMS WITH THE GUILT. CONSOLED MYSELF OVER ELLE AND A VENTI ICED CARAMEL MACCHIATO -ANOTHER DISTINCT WEAKNESS.
SPENT A FEW HOURS PEOPLE WATCHING IN A PRIME SPOT OUTSIDE THE ART GALLERY- PERFECT FOR CATCHING THE RAYS AND THE MOST ECLECTIC PASSERS-BY.

TRAGEDY STRUCK AT ABOUT 4pm.- BROKE MY RAYBANS. APPARENTLY THEY AREN'T WILLING TO WITHSTAND THE DELICATE NATURE OF MY BODY WEIGHT AFTER ALL. URGH.
THAT'S SOMEBODY'S WAY OF TELLING ME TO STOP SPENDING ISN'T IT.

the met gala- the UPS and the DOWNS.

A BEAUTIFUL BALL- not entirely sure what it's all about, just that there's a lot of money involved with expensive dresses, many a celebrity and a lot of press coverage. seems to be a yearly event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (again, something i know very little about, apart from it's in NY and boasts an excellent online thematic essays section, proving invaluable to my prehistoric art revision (don't all jump at once)

the glitterati went full out with their outfit choices- the theme being, American Woman: Fashioning a National Ientity. (needless to be said, english style was out in full force with the likes of style champs alexa, sienna and emma watson among the crowd.)

my favourites:

emma watson looking uber-chic in her custom-made Burberry gown. (hard not to when Chistopher Bailey is your BFF really)

Jude and Seinna looking rather fine. Yes he cheated, and is somewhat of a pimping manwhore, but i can't help be slightly pleased for them, and satisfied with the idea that maybe two people, two beautiful people, can rediscover something if it's really meant to be. i do hope they last this time, sure a cheetah doesn't lose his spots, but maybe jude could keep his secreted for the meanwhile under this dashing suit. okay, enough soppy love shit- yes she looks amazing, good choice of navy, bad choice of shoes.

kate bosworth looking rather swell in this Valentino gown. nude- check, backless- check, understated- check. you've got my vote miss bosworth.

chanel iman, swell in this golden jumpsuit♥.

dree hemingway, wish i had more pictures as you looked stalk beautiful.

good old alexa, flying the british flag. i see what's she doing here with the whole masculinity thing, and i like it- especially the fact that it's Philim Lim and a bold monochrome; i just can't help but feel she's being a little pretentious, i.e. i'm style icon alexa chung, i can pull off the tuxedo look and will stand out. to be honest, it looks undeniably but i actually was looking forward to seeing your gown. maybe next time- you could team a dress with that beautiful caped blazer.

chloe sevigny, you're very cool and i love you; this dress- it's sweet, and the colour is great, but there seems to be a problem. YOU'RE NOT 12. or alice in wonderland. maybe you can still pull it off though.

i don't like this. someone should've told katy perry it was the met gala, not some trailer-trash disco showdown.
Leave the LEDs at home next time, please.

sorry, you- yes you. no i don't know your name, but here's a few pointers for your next red carpet do:
a)tight dress + those boobs, it's never going to work. i'm small chested, thus biased- but surely you could see that fitting airbags in to a sample size was a plan for failure.
b) maybe have some sort of friend, or at least mirror to check your appearance prior to stepping on to the carpet. FYI, you've got a f**king mongrel on your right shoulder.
c) a dress that tight and that blue, is only going to cause problems for hip-width.

it seems my invite was lost in the post- or maybe even delayed- bank holiday monday does cause havoc with the postal offices i know, i know. IF  i was there- i think i would've chosen a deep V cut a la sienna, maybe in a gold lamé. simple and chic. oh, and maybe some sort of jude law accessory would've worked quite well.
